Dietary supplements are also called nutritional or food supplements. They are needed to supplement the food we eat to prevent the occurrence of dietary deficiencies as a result of wrong or insufficient diet. Most often used dietary supplements are vitamins, minerals and specific oils such as omega-3.

Fish are rich in polyunsaturated omega-3 oils (EPA: eicosapentaenoic acid and DHA: docosahexaenoic acid) that play an important role in protecting our health. However, fish are known to accumulate chemical pollutants released into water through human activity. What to think about such paradoxes?
